The Color Guard is the visual ensemble that greatly enhances the performances of the Gaither High School band. Members learn from skilled instructors in the areas of flag, rifle, saber and dance.  The Starettes are open to both men and women and auditions take place at the end of the school year. Students in the fall Color Guard are expected to participate in the Winter Guard/ Dance program.
The Winter Guard picks up after Marching Season ends. The Winter Guard team competes in choregraphed shows set to music.  All of the competition happen indoors, much like Indoor Percussion.  The GHS Starettes placed 4th in the state of Florida at the 2017 FFCC State Competition. The team is directed by Melanie Hogan.
